International Administration (Guernsey) create IAG Private Equity Limited
Posted: 05 June 2008
Reacting to increasing client demand for private equity expertise, International Administration (Guernsey) Limited (IAG) has created a dedicated private equity division, IAG Private Equity Limited.
Chris Cochrane has been appointed managing director of the division, Neil Fell Client Accounting Director and David Earles Systems and Project Director. Chris says IAG's select client base, coupled with its local independence in the sector, is proving to be an effective formula. He joined IAG in January and brings with him 15 years' experience in private equity administration.
‘We design our procedures and controls to match the specifics of each individual client. We are not shackled by layers of management or bureaucracy, which can be found in branches of larger institutions and this approach allows us to respond quickly and effectively to clients' needs,' he said.
Neil firmly believes that the company's local management structure and speed of response on decisions is a major strength. He has been working in the finance sector for more than 20 years, with particular expertise in fund audit and accounting.
Mark Woodall CFO states "It is fundamental to client services to have the ability to provide full accounting and Neil's expertise will enable us to give clients a premier accounting service".
Since the formation of IAG by Alison Simpson and Mark Woodall in 2000, the business has seen significant growth, with assets under administration of US$10billion.
‘There is still a significant amount of capital available for private equity firms,' he said. In Guernsey private equity asset class values increased 66% year on year reaching £34billon at December 2007' said Raymond Page, IAG's Managing Director.
Global consultant, Private Equity Intelligence, says the sector passed a landmark $2 trillion in assets under management by the middle of last year and raised more than $500 billion of new funds in the process.
