GAM launch Dublin-domiciled long-only fund

The Dublin-domiciled fund will be run by the firm's investment director and head of emerging markets Sean Taylor.

As the fund is long-only, Taylor said he would take a longer-term horizon on his investments than in his existing hedge funds.

Taylor highlighted the lack of correlation between frontier markets and the developed world, and between the individual countries, as a key factor behind the investment. "This unique quality offers useful diversification potential," he said.

The Ucits III-compliant fund currently has a "significant bias" towards the Middle East and the Gulf region, citing "positive, national and regional developments there, both on a political and economic level".
