Ermitage hires Rushen to lead European Pension Fund

Jersey-based fund manager Ermitage has hired John Rushen as an executive director. He joins the firm from BlackRock, where he was a managing director and product specialist. He will be managing Ermitage's European institutional business, with a particular focus on pension funds. Prior to his BlackRock days, Rushen was a partner with William M. Mercer, and a senior practitioner in its investment consulting practice.

Rushen will be based in the Ermitage London office, and will report directly to group CEO Ian Cadby. He will also sit on the board of Ermitage UK Limited.

"John brings tremendous knowledge of the sector, with relationships with many of the top UK pension funds, FTSE 100 companies, and more than 20 years spend in pension fund consulting," Cadby said. "His decision to join us at this time emphasizes the potential Ermitage has to become a leading service provider to the pension fund sector globally."
